Winter Storm Warnings

* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between
3 and 8 inches along and north of US Route 20, with the higher end
totals expected near and north of Interstate 90.
* WHERE...Madison and Southern Oneida Counties.
* WHEN...From 5 AM Friday to 7 AM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow bands will move back and
forth across the area, with uncertainty in snowfall totals. There
will likely be a wide range in amounts with a sharp cutoff in snow
totals.
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 1 to
2 feet, with localized amounts of 3 feet possible.
* WHERE...Wayne and Northern Cayuga Counties. The greatest
accumulations will focus in a small area of extreme northeast
Wayne and far northern Cayuga counties. The remainder of those
counties will see far less snowfall.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible in the
heaviest bands of snow with near zero visibility and deep snow
cover on roads.
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 1 to
2 feet, with localized amounts of up to 4 feet possible across
Oswego County. Snowfall rates of 3 to 5 inches per hour possible
in the most intense bands.
* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. The greatest additional
snow amounts will focus across Oswego County. Additional snowfall
in Jefferson County will only be across the southern end of the
county, and in Lewis County the southern Tug Hill region, with
minimal amounts elsewhere.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible with near
zero visibility and deep snow cover on roads. If you must travel,
be prepared for severe impacts and the possibility of becoming
stranded.
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 8 to
14 inches.
* WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie
Counties. The greatest additional accumulations will be across the
Chautauqua Ridge and Boston Hills.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult with snow covered roads
and poor visibilities at times. The hazardous conditions will
impact the Friday morning commute.
